New Engine!

My new engine showed up! My powercrate 350 from Yearone. It mad 403.6 hp at 5700 RPM and 414 ft lbs at 3100 RPM looks really clean. Very happy so far, new transmission also showed up, TCI Streetfighter TH-400 very nice.

Engine Tear Down **WARNING GEARHEAD TALK**

So when we cracked open our engine we noticed quite a bit of carbon deposits on some of the pistons, there was also some pretty badly bent pushrods, some lifters were pitted and most were on borrowed time. In the process of removing the valvetrain components, I noticed right away the cam had two flat lobes by how little the lifters were lifting (no pun intended), so I pulled the cam and not to my surprise I had two flat lobes. We then flipped the engine and pulled off the pan and noticed a large amount of metal shavings, no bueno. On the bright side though I have 4 bolt main block and the cylinder walls looked pretty good, time for the machine shop! Now here comes the crappy cell phone pictures, when I get the chance I'll take better pictures

Been Behind

So a lot has happened with our truck lately. The latest and greatest being we've pulled the engine, the transmission, and dissasembled the engine. We've also ordered a new engine hopefully on its way soon, the engine is a year one powercrate 350 which makes a tad more than 400hp and 400ft lbs of torque, should be a pretty quick truck. I have some pictures half are from my cell phone and don't look to good so your going to have to bear with me here.

Long time no Post

Well, it certainly has been a long time since I have posted anything of interest on this blog. I have new pictures and all that, but it's on the camera and the camera is somewhere else at the moment. So, I will just have to tell you what has gone on with the truck during my blog leave. So far we have repacked the wheel bearings, replaced the carburetor, completely redone the brakes, reupholstered, chassis lubrication, painted the bumper, changed the voltage regulator, new alternator, new master cylinder, and are about to replace the dash pad and the old AM radio's speaker. Rebuilding the engine is on the agenda next a 383 stroker with 465 hp 450 ft lb torque
400 at 25 RPM. Also on the way new 3500+ rpm stall converter, posi or full locker rearend, new tires and wheels, and a more beefy stereo

New Diy Stereo

I finally built the stereo for my truck. It all cost about 40 dollars but performs more like a 200 dollar system. The boxes were designed and tested by me.

We also found the original order sheet behind the seat.
Sadly it was far to brittle to remove.
